This is Buggin Me

I'm about to go on a tangent. Ready? Go!

Kansas City's non-smoking laws just went into effect last week. I'm sorry, but I think forcing people to adopt a non-smoking policy for a business that they own is stupid! There are plenty of other places that non-smokers can go to not have their senses assaulted by the evil smoke. Seriously. Do we really need to take this so far that we are forcing people in places that most non-smokers don't go anyway, such as bars and nightclubs to not smoke? I believe in the right to choose. I choose to not smoke. I chose to not sit in smoking restaurants. That is my choice. Why should people and business who do choose to smoke be forced to comply. I think it's stupid.

And while we are on the subject, I have recently come across MANY blogs of my fellow Mormon sisters that talk about how much they hate people who smoke, and how rude people who smoke are. Love your neighbor-unless he smokes, right? No people. God loves smokers too. Just because someone chooses to smoke doesn't automatically make them a big evil person who is going out of their way to make your hair smell like cigarette smoke. And can I just remind you sisters that the men we honor as the founders of our church were most likely smokers. So lets just keep in mind that we all walk around sinning. (We just can't smell it the way we can smell the cigarettes.)

Okay. I'm done. Thanks for listening.
