I never believed I looked like my Dad even though I had been told I do by many people. Then I saw this picture and I became a believer.
This is why my Dad is awesome:
- He always keeps his cool.
- He works really hard.
- He has always honored his priesthood.
- When I was a teenager, I would wake up on Valentines day to a card and a little heart shaped box of chocolates at my bedroom door.
- He turns on his blinker a good mile before he finally makes his turn. (Ha, ha, Dad, just kidding...sort of.)
- I've only heard him say a swear word once and I was like 24 or 25 or something. I bet none of you can say that.
- He used to do the maintenance on the car I drove.
- He would spray the basement with pesticide every time I saw a huge spider.
- He fell out of the attic onto the dryer door that wouldn't stay shut once and after that it was fixed. Magic.
- He used to make pancakes or waffles on Conference Sundays.
- He helps with the dishes.
- He's a trooper and keeps up with us on outings even though his knees are hurting very badly.
- He is always willing to help out and never makes you feel bad about it.
- He was in a band in college. There is a picture of him and his band mates in shinny jackets. Awesome. If you ask, he'll show you the spot where the picture was taken at the Tacoma Mall.
Happy Birthday Dad!! We love you! We appreciate you! And we hope to have you around for many, many more birthdays.
Love your favorite daughter,
Leslie Marie

You know, if I tap my head, and squint a little, and think reaaaaalllly hard, I might be able to remember my dad swearing once. Maybe. vaguely. Yeah, our dads don't swear, like, ever!
I always thought your dad was way cool. :)
