The anticipation is over, the day has arrived!!
The lilacs are blooming!!
My husband came bustin through the front door with these beauties.
The smell is fantastic. FANTASTIC.
My most favorite smell in the whole world.
Sadly, I don't have my own bush. My husband pulls over on the side of a dirt road and pulls them off a row of gigantic lilacs bushes that were abandoned when an old farm house was torn down a few years back. He will bring me two or three more bunches (atleast!) before they are done blooming. Soon he will bring me peonies from an old cemetery.
I really think it's better than Christmas.

Oh how I love spring
Oh I want a lilac bush (tree?) so bad! We had one when I was a kid and I loved the smell. I even have a lilac scent for when I make soap. I wonder if lilacs grow well in Utah. Yeah. Probably not.
soo beautiful. My lilac bush hasn't bloomed yet, and I'm waiting anxiously now after seeing your picture. love it.
I'm really liking that Jason will pull over and pick you flowers on his way home from work. That is romantic. Pretty sure Matt would just take a picture and that's if he would even think of me when he saw them. Nice job Jason! And lilac bushes grow pretty good in Utah. OUrs hasn't bloomed yet but they're a comin'.
Yes, I think they bloom early to mid may in Utah. The smell takes me back to being a little kid too, Meg. You can even get them in fancy dandy colors now too, I saw a yellow one in a catalog once.
Thanks, Lisa, he does have his shinning moments.
I don't have my own bush yet either. I was seriously contemplating pulling over yesterday and making a run to a bush that is far away from the home of a neighbor. I may have to do it at night...lol. Just joking. Oh the smell is just heavenly
I'm with Lisa, I REALLY like that about Jason. Whatta sweetie!
