Is it silly to say that I feel like taking a victory lap? I mean I would say yes, but I still really want to take that victory lap.
I do know that if my husband had folded the laundry, I would have been all, "What? You want a trophy or something?"
But sure as heck, when he comes home from work tonight, looks around our messy house and asks, "What did you do today?" I'll puff my chest out, throw my hands on my hips and declare, "I folded the laundry!" like I was announcing that I found the cure for cancer. Then I would expect applause or something equally gratifying, like his standard response, "Wow, you're wonderful."
Oh wow!! I just had an epiphany. When my husband helps around the house and wants major praise, I should give it to him, because I expect the same thing! Whoa......I did not expect this post to take this kind of turn.
Neat, blogging totally "marriage counseled" me today. I should do this more often.

HOORAY for folding laundry! I have those days.... :) and yes, you should blog more often. I love Leslie random posts, they make my day better. :) luv ya!
I loathe laundry! Mine is awaiting the folding (the worst part) right now. I can wash and dry just fine, it's the folding and putting away where I fall down.
I am also a feedback/praise junkie. It drives my Hubs crazy but, come on, when he does a project at work, it stays done. NOTHING we EVER do at home STAYS done. It's hard to feel motivated when the only guarantee is that no matter how well you do it today (or not), you'll still have to do it again tomorrow (or not). LOL!
I remember my mom saying "Why should I praise you (or pay allowance for) something you are SUPPOSED to do?" But I think you should anyway. I ALWAYS point it out and thank my husband when he cleans something without being asked. Pretty easy to do, since it's such a rare occurance! But he tends to thank me for cleaning, too, so I guess I do get that praise! I love seeing something all done and clean--and I hate it when, ten minutes later, it's all dirty again...
i can totally understand...i have the same feeling when i fold all the laundry lying in a huge huge heap!!!
Good job Leslie skw
