Leslie's Month O'Love!

I have officially declared February as Leslie's month o'Love! Hooray!

This means every few days, I shall write a love letter to someone or something. It should be good.

If your wondering why it's my month O'love, I'll explain. I guess first of all, there is Valentine's day. That has love written all over it. Then I have the anniversary of my marriage on the tenth. And then there is only 28 days in February, and I LOVE that. So yeah, that about covers it.

Stay tuned!

My Super Bowl Review or Why Does Bruce Springsteen Suck So Bad?

I was assigned by my Microeconomics teacher to watch the Superbowl commercials. This assignment is worth 5 points. What Superbowl Commercials have to do with economics, I'm not sure. But I make it a habit to get all the points I can get. Just seems like I get more A's that way. Funny how that works out, but anyway, because I had to watch the commercials, I paid next to no attention to the football for the entire first half. The commercials this year, I think, were better than they have been for awhile. Did anyone see the McGruber/Pepsuber commercial? Funny. I also wonder who thought it was a good idea to have Bruce Springsteen to do the half time show. Can you say LAME?? Yeah, I said it. The Boss is Lame, Lame-O, the Lamest. I was born to hate Bruce Springsteen, I mean, his name doesn't even rhyme with Boss. (Mine does)Then I ignored the whole of the third quarter, commercials and all. After putting the kids to bed, I sat down to watch the fourth quarter and I have to say it was quite magnificent all around. Man, I just want to say that those Steelers are scary. They definitely meant business. I'm really excited for the pro-bowl next week. Then it's all over.

Why?

Why does football season have to end?

Right Now

Recently, (and by recently, I mean right now) I have come to realize that I have only made one list this month. I am going to fix that very soon. (and by soon, I mean right now.)
  1. I love how excited my husband is when he comes home from school. He likes it. He talks on and on about welding things, and I in no way understand what he is talking about. It's cute. He's cute.

  2. So, we didn't make it to church on Sunday. This also means I did not go to church three times in January. Don't despair! The year is not over yet.

  3. I very much love popcorn. I will eat some later. (and by later, I mean right now.)

  4. I got this Barbie for Christmas from my husband's grandmother. It's called the Scarlet Macaw.

  5. I finally got some new shoes to Jazzercise in. I can't wait to try them out.
  6. We found a new place at 119th and BlackBob called Five Guys Famous Burgers and Fries. It was awesome. They use fresh cut potatoes that, according to the sign, came from Idaho Falls, ID. I ordered the biggest burger. A bacon cheeseburger. The guy at the register felt like he needed to tell me that this burger had a half pound of meat, and being female, I might not be able to eat it all. I looked at my husband and LAUGHED. Oh, I can eat it all. Yes, I can. With jalapenos too. 95% of the people in the establishment were male. So, apparently, it's a sexist restaurant. I am a feminist restaurant patron. I DEMAND equality in the meals served to me and my male counterpart and.....uh.... Oh, sorry, got carried away there for a sec. Anyway, the burger was really good. And they had free peanuts too.
  7. My Microeconomics professor got into a minor confrontation over the Koran in class with a student. The student never came back to class. Seriously, the guy dropped his class because the Professor said there was some violence in religious texts, such as the bible and the Koran. Dude. You meet a lot of interesting people at the Community College. Very interesting.
  8. My daughter lost tooth number five on Wednesday. Pretty soon she is going to have an empty mouth.
  9. My little boy smells strongly of ramen noodles and syrup.

The Holiday Cheer Meister

I am watching the Inauguration day events on ABC. There are just so many events. Did you know that President Obama will be attending TEN Inauguration Balls tonight? Why not just stick him in the Chair of Cheer and feed him pudding?

This is not pudding.

Let's Talk About This

So, I closed my poll like six hours early. I wanted to change my background. (If you didn't get to vote, it's your own fault for waiting till the last minute. Shame.) But I did write down the results. They are as follows:

Have FHE with the family.
2 votes......18%

Shave my legs more
3 votes.......27%

Stop swearing in front of Mel and Cherise
2 votes.......18%

Go to church three or more times a month
4 votes.......36%

Change the music on my blog's play lis
0 votes.......0%

So after you preform a poll, you should analyze the results, right? Let's analyze, shall we?

The two people who voted for FHE are practical people. They know that I would not have to leave the house to accomplish this goal, there by making the likelihood of me actually having FHE with my family, increase significantly.

Three people voted for me to shave my legs more. Chaa!! Like I'm gonna do that! I mostly put it on the poll for a joke. I'm thinking the people who voted for this either Jazzercise with me, or caught a glimpse of my ankles at church. Don't worry people, I shave before I put on a swimsuit. I know, your welcome.

Two votes for not swearing in front of Melanie and Cherise. Obviously it was Mel and Cherise who voted for this. They really don't believe I''ll actually do it though. But mostly it's not my fault. It always happens when all the other Moms leave playgroup early to get there kids ready for school, or something else lame like that. So you see, the smaller the number of people there are, the more comfortable I am, and therefore, more likely to say H#%@. See, not my fault.

And lastly, the winner. Four votes for going to church 3 or more times a month. So, I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say my Mom voted for this twice, and maybe Dad once. And now I confess, this is what I voted for also. But that doesn't mean I'm going to like it, and it's definitely not going to be easy.

Oh, wait, I also had change the music on my blog. No votes. I can only surmise that everyone thinks I have rockin taste in music. Thank you. I agree.

11 votes total. Good polling people.

One Hundred and Forty Dollars

That's how much it cost me to fix my computer. That and two hours listening to the kids cry at Best Buy. But the upside to this is two fold. First, they cleaned all the dust out of the inside of my computer. Now it makes no noise. Yes, that's right. I said NO NOISE. Wow. And second, I can actually turn ON my computer now. That always good.

Happy New Year

Every night at around 8pm, I announce, " K, it's time for bed !"  and my 8 yr old (who we now consider to be autistic) ...
