Busy Easter Weekend

I don't know what to post about really so I'll just write about Easter weekend. (Even though that's what everyone else is doing, and I have a strong dis-like for doing things that everyone else is doing. It's just the way I am, don't fight it.)

Saturday morning I went to my history class. My teacher ended on a very uplifting note-The end of WWII, 60 million people dead and 2 A-bombs that may or may not of needed to be dropped to end the war. Isn't it a beautiful world? Praise Jesus.
Then, I got home from school just in time to go to the annual Hull Family Easter Egg hunt. It was a smaller crowd this year, but good times were had by all. (And if you were wondering, Dajin Skeem won the prize this year for most eggs. I think he had in the neighborhood of 280-290 eggs. He got a dollar. When the bishop's kid wins, you gotta wonder if it's a conspiracy.) Anyway, pictures...
Listen up!! Melanie explains the rules of the hunt.

My friends! (we are missing Cathy and Dorothy though.)
After the hunt, my boy got beat up by a kid half his size, and he loved it.

Sunday brought the event I was dreading all week. Easter Lunch at my sister-in-law's house(a woman screams in the background)! Oh, it was awkward, and to make it even weirder, her ex-husband and his mother were there. But, you know what? I survived. Nobody tried to press me into long conversations, so I never really had to speak about myself. I was totally avoiding eye contact though. I'm sure it was written all over my face how uncomfortable I was. (I'm not very good at hiding my emotions, my sister and bff always said they could read me like a book.) But what do they expect? My husband's family has burned me pretty bad, more than once. We got to take things slow. Here is a picture of my kids playing with their cousin whom they haven't seen in almost two years. They loved each other.

We then went to visit my husband's Grandmother and Aunt in Overland park. We hadn't seen them in awhile. Grandma was all a buzz about a blue heron and some mallard ducks that have visited her pond out back. It was a nice visit.

And that was my Easter. I hope you liked it.

The bottom picture of you is very very sexy! I'm proud of you for taking the high road when it comes to your in-laws. I don't know what happened, but I'm pretty sure you're handling it with grace and love!

Wish you could have been here for Easter. Great post. I too hate to conform. That's why I wait a week after the holiday so that I can be "a little" different. Why the heck was T's ex hubby there? She's super crazy! Okay bye.

Happy New Year

Every night at around 8pm, I announce, " K, it's time for bed !"  and my 8 yr old (who we now consider to be autistic) ...
