The original UGLY shirt.

So here it is, the legendary original, ugly shirt. It was a random day and I was walking through Walmart. This beauty caught my eye. I had to have, it was so ugly! And yes, I actually did wear it for awhile. My sister in law had the same shirt in tan. It wasn't so bad. I told her my shirt was uglier than hers and she was offended. What?? I offended my sister in law? Yeah, THAT never happens....

uhhh...

Dear QuickTrip at College and Antioch,

Today, I decided that I needed to put gas in my car so I wouldn't be stranded. I haven't pumped my own gas since I got married. Okay maybe once, but it's still been a long time. Can I just tell you that it was really annoying to have to walk all the way into your store and wait for the person in front of me to get directions to the nearest pharmacy, (even though there was two people at the register and yes lady he said that way and I think he means THAT way.) And when that lady finally left, I stepped up to the register and you looked at me with a vacant expression until I said "Uh, I guess I need to prepay on 7?" It wasn't until this moment that you decided to tell me your pumps were down, but I shouldn't worry because you were trying to fix them. Doesn't it seem a little unreasonable that I should have to park my car, walk into your store, wait forever just to be told you couldn't sell me any gas? Haven't you ever heard of signs? There made of paper and you tape them up on things. You should look into it.

Sincerly,
Leslie

Bubbles

My husband has taught my five year old how to blow bubbles with hand soap. Now, she is a bubble expert. Spongebob would be envious. She knows exactly how much water she should mix in, and how hard she should blow. Take a look at these pictures...

You can see how big her bubbles get.Isn't this the coolest picture? I love it.

Spring Break? Hmm...I don't think so.

Well, I just had the busiest week!!! It really wasn't much of a break. I can't seem to get much done when the kids are home from school. I had all these plans to finish up my homework, I had two weeks to do it and all. Nope, didn't get done. It's due tonight at midnight and here I am not working on it. Procrastination!!

Here is a rundown of this weeks events:
1. Went hiking around Hillsdale Lake with my friend Mel.
2. I cleaned and then I cleaned some more. (9am-9pm, I'm not kidding.)
3. Colored Easter Eggs, again with Mel.
4. My Mom and Dad came to visit!!
5. Easter Egg hunt hosted by Mel.
6. Dinner at Cheesecake Factory, Yummy! (And the waiter looked like Heath Ledger, OW!!!) 7. Disney's Princess' on Ice at the new Sprint Center in KCMO. It was so fun! We dressed my daughter up as Cinderella complete with a wig. I think I enjoyed the show more than she did. When Prince Phillip kissed Sleeping Beauty I yelled "Wooooooo!!!!" and my Mom gave me this "what are you doing?" look. I laughed and yelled some more. It was soooooooooooooooo fun. (My sister, Lisa, went a few weeks ago in Salt Lake. I told her to mention it to our Mom so when I asked Mom about it, she would have a reference point. Well, being the cool person that she is, Lisa emailed mom some pictures and suggested that maybe we should all go when it was in KC. Then Mom brought it up to me, I didn't even have to ask! Good Job Lisa! It totally worked!)
8. I actually went to church. My friend Donnica was teasing me that I only go to church when my parents visit. She is totally right. Mel laughs and says in most other religions, I would be considered active because I attend at Easter and Christmas. I listened to one of the special sister's in my Ward talk about her going to the Conference Center for General Conference like it was the '60s and she was going to a Beatles Concert. Hee, hee, she is really excited.

Book of a Thousand Days

I just finished reading a book in less than 1 day. Not a strange occurrence for me, I do it fairly often. But I L-O-V-E-D this book:Book of a Thousand Days by Shannon Hale. If you've read Princess Academy (Another fabulous book, by the way), then you recognize the author as a Newberry award winner. She does a magnificent job of creating fantasy worlds that are both mid-evil and steeped in mysterious, but beautiful folk lore.

I think what caught me first about the book was the tender heart of the main character, Bashti. She is a mucker who set out to the big city to look for work after her mother dies. She finds herself in the employ of a lady about to be imprisoned in a tower for 7 years for refusing to marry an evil Lord from another realm. Bashti is practically given the option to escape, but sees the desperation in her Lady's eyes, and chooses to stay so she can heal her Lady with her healing songs. If you've read my previous post, you will know that my heart has been cold and made of Reynold's wrap for a few days.(Okay, that's not my line, I got it from Dooce.com. It's a good one, huh?) It felt good to read about someone who innately wants to care for people. I used to be like that, before...

I intend to buy a copy of this book for my collection. Yes! It's that good! Read it already...

I was wrong.

Our Friend Ernie brought this over to our house to show my husband about a year ago. I told him it was a piece of junk and no one would buy it. I was wrong.
