February List
- It's Friday. I have nothing to do. Well, that's not true. I could toil around the house, but that is not fun.
- I have finally figured out how to solve those Sodoku puzzles. Yep, you're absolutely right, I'm a genius.
- My little boy has started coming in my room in the middle of the night and sleeping on the floor next to my bed. I kind of like it. I have started making a little bed on the floor, and if I wake up in the night and he is not there, I get kind of disappointed.
- Every night before she goes to sleep, my daughter gives me a list of instructions: If I get sick, come take care of me, k? And when you take care of me when I get sick, let me sleep on the couch, k? And if I get scared about something, or I need to tell you about something, I will come talk to you, k?
- Probably, you know this already. I got a 99% on a Accounting 2 test, a 100% on my Microeconomics test, and a 90% with a Good written on top, on my US History after 1877 test.
- Do any of you read Nie? I check her blog everyday with anticipation. She makes me smile and breaks my heart at the same time.
- My good friend, The Professor, a.k.a Melanie, has been taking class up at the college at the same time as me on Saturdays. We have been carpooling. Really, I have done every step of this whole college thing all by my lonesome. It's fun to be with my friend for a change. After class, we go to her office and I wait and crack jokes while she does something all professor-y, like print syllabuses and stuff. When we are done doing that tomorrow, we are going to Sam's Club! Yea!
- I got a rice steamer for Valentines day! It is Ahhhhh-some!!! Here let's add a few more exclamations for added emphasis!!!! I opened the steamer after it was done and I was overcome with excitement. I cheered. Heck yes, I did! I clapped and giggled and jumped up and down. No, I really did. Ask my husband.
- Do any of you watch LOST on ABC, Wednesday nights at 8pm? I do. I hate John Lock, and Jack. I like Benjamin Linus (a total genius of a character), I LOVE Desmond, and I cried when Charlie died. I tried not to be into this show. It has way to much yelling and people getting shot for my tastes, but I can't help it. This show makes you think. It's like putting together a puzzle. Nothing makes sense until like 3 seasons later. It's all trippy weird sometimes. Most of the time. No, all the time. I hate Lost! No, I love Lost. No! Hate it! Dahhh! Okay, I love it. Right now it's the only non-Office, 30 Rock, or Vh-1 trash show I follow.
- Oh yeah, I was supposed to do more love letters cause it's February or something like that. Well, I'm not feeling it anymore. You are just gonna have to deal wit it. (H left off intentionally)

Thems Be Fightin' Words
Background: Husband had to walk a mile in a sod field, jacked up his back. He is in pain.
Conversation:
Me: You need to exercise. You should be able to walk a mile without hurting your back. This happens every year.
Him: I know.
Me: I mean, what if something happened, and you had to walk the family like ten miles from here without transportation?
Him: You couldn't walk ten miles.
Me: What? You don't think I could walk ten miles?
Him: NO!!
Me: Are you kidding? I said WALK not RUN. I could walk ten miles.
Him: I don't think so.
I was deeply offended by this, so you know what I'm gonna do? I'm going to walk TEN miles so I can tell my husband who can't walk ONE MILE to EAT IT.
Anyone want to join me?

Today is Our 8th Wedding Anniversary
...and my husband has yet to mention it. Should I wait to see if he remembers, or should I be nice and remind him? I'm leaning towards the waiting, but is that entrapment? 'Cause you know, he's totally going to get in trouble.
Eternity is a long time, huh Jason?
Anyway, this is what we looked like when we got married February 10, 2001.

I was all young and 20. He was all old and 27. My wedding was not fancy, nope not one bit. We got married in the Relief Society room at the Stake Center in Olathe, Kansas. We were later sealed in the Nauvoo temple in Oct. 2002
This is what we look like now.

Eternity is a long time, huh Jason?

Not a Love Letter
After my daughter yelled at her brother and basically bullied him off the computer, I got after her and told her to be nice. I left the room for a few minutes. When I came back , she was brimming with excitement over a sign she had made and taped to the wall by herself. And she drawed it with a Hannah Montana pen too!

Dear Kansas,
Oh, how I love thee! You have so many trees.
Everyday I look up to your big sky, and sometimes I want to cry.
For I see the large hawks, the wild turkey, the mass migration of Canadian geese, and it gives me reason for glee!
Your people are diverse, even if some are perverse.
I pass a pick-up on the road, and I get a wave from some toothless toad.
Your summer nights are hot, but your grey winters are not.
Your summer days are divine, I pick tomatoes off my vine.
We spend our summer days together as I lounge in your sun at the pool. How I long for those summer days, they are just so cool!
But inevitably, your summer days must end. So red and orange sunsets you send.
But my Dear Kans-ass, you really do kick some ace.
I've lived here for eight years, there's just been a few tears.
Besides it could be worse, I could be living in Missouri.
