The secret to what, you ask? The secret to having an awesome birthday. Well, to tell the truth, there are two secrets. Yes, that's right. I said two. Today is your lucky day, my friend! For today I share my secrets with you.
Secret #1
Plan your own birthday party.
I mean think about it, your chances of getting a birthday party thrown for you like double or something when you do it yourself! See, two years ago, I invited my friends to go bowling and to eat at Sweet tomatoes. Then last year, we bought tickets to see Stephenie Meyers. This year, my friends didn't let me get away with not having a party, we ate and played games. (pictures later in post)
Secret #2
Spread the birthday festivities out over as many days as possible.
This is how it's done:
Thursday, May 7th-You get your first birthday card in the mail, it's from your parents. The card tells you how much joy and happiness you bring to their lives.
Friday, May 8th-Your friend brings you a cookie bouquet and your Husband takes you to the Star trek Movie

Sunday, May 10th-You get flowers from your husband, cake and presents at Grandma C's, and don't forget the Star Trek cups from Burger King!

Tuesday, May 12th- Lunch with Gail, an absolute must!! Thanks again, Gail!

I seriously was going to buy the whole set and send you those glasses for your birthday. But then just figured they get broken. I totally do the whole Lis-ukuh (like Hannukah) thing and make my birthday a whole week long. You gotta milk it baby! But thanks for revealing the other secret. This year's will be the best!
Maybe it's just us May babies. I did the same thing. Trevor said I had more of a "birthday season" than a birthday. I milked it for all it's worth. Way to go Leslie!
what a great birhtday week :) I need to try that next year. lol. keep the advice coming..it's the best! (oh btw, Amy's read Storm Glass already, she read it in like a day in a half). :)
I'm inviting myself to your suprise birthday next year :)
Good move on having a 'Birthday Season' rather than just a single day. Way to work it girl!
Sounds like fun! I love your blog and thanks for the comment! I needed to hear that!
You do know how to do birthdays. I did get an awesome birthday party once that I told my husband he had to give me. I loved it. The best one ever. skw
He Leslie,
When I was in Arizona we celebrated my brother's 40th birthday. As I was talking to him, he mentioned that normally he doesn't do anything special on his birthday. So I told him all about you. I think he was most impressed with our Stephanie Meyer autographed books. Good time! I wish you had a birthday everyday!
